Mark Gurman from Bloomberg indicates that Apple is transitioning into a new stage following the introduction of the iPhone 16, shifting its focus toward the iPhone SE 4 as the next objective. Due to the erratic history surrounding SE launches, pinpointing an exact release date for the SE 4 has proven to be quite challenging.
Possible Release Schedule for iPhone SE 4
Gurman, recognized for his accuracy in reporting on Apple topics, claims that the iPhone SE 4 is anticipated to be revealed in early 2025. This timeframe aligns with the previous inconsistencies in SE release trends noted in 2016, 2020, and 2022.
Model Identifier and Current Development Status
His observations highlight that the model identifier for the SE 4 is “V59,” suggesting it remains in the research and development phase. Furthermore, it is projected to be budget-friendly, targeting entry-level Android smartphones in China.
Design Advancement for iPhone SE 4
The latest iterations of the iPhone SE have upheld the same design, not solely for the aesthetics of the iPhone 8’s style but largely owing to its cost-efficiency. Nevertheless, as time advances, the SE 4 is expected to embrace a more contemporary design, similar to the iPhone 14, as per Gurman.
Anticipated Features
Although the SE 4 may lack dynamic keys or the Dynamic Island feature, it is projected to encompass a borderless design and possibly support up to 8GB of RAM along with an Apple A18 chip. While it may not fulfill all current expectations, there is conjecture that some advanced features from Apple could find their way into the iPhone SE 4 by the first half of 2025.
