In a pivotal initiative to advance electric vehicles (EVs) and foster sustainable transit, the national government has announced its strategy to distribute complimentary electric bicycles to the leading 120 achievers at the Federal Board.
Rana Tanveer Hussain, the federal minister responsible for industries and production, presided over the fourth session dedicated to the Electric Vehicles Policy, during which this declaration was made. The assembly also examined the advancements in establishing 40 EV charging stations along primary national highways and motorways.
Within the meeting, the minister underscored the importance of creating electric vehicle charging facilities at every petrol station throughout the capital. Additionally, the government aims to offer 39,000 electric bicycles and 1,900 electric rickshaws to the populace through affordable loan services, thereby enhancing accessibility for a broader demographic.
Rana Tanveer Hussain emphasized that the entire operation would be carried out digitally to ensure transparency. This venture aligns with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision to transform Islamabad into a model city. The Federal Minister also announced that the Electric Vehicles Policy would be unveiled shortly.
These initiatives are aimed at promoting environmentally-friendly transportation throughout the nation and supporting sustainable urban development.
