Instagram is reportedly experimenting with a fresh feature known as story highlights, allowing users to revisit previously shared Instagram stories from accounts they follow.
The platform, owned by Meta, has consistently rolled out new functionalities aimed at enhancing user engagement. Significantly, Instagram has also launched “trial reels,” which offer content creators the chance to interact with non-followers and delve into creative concepts.
Instagram Enhances Story Highlights
Recent reports indicate that Instagram’s upcoming functionality will enable users to view highlights of stories shared by their mutual followers for up to a week post their posting.
These previously unseen story highlights will appear at the bottom of the story tray located at the top of the feed, allowing viewers to access this material.
It’s important to note that this modification will solely influence the original poster’s saved story highlights and will not change the typical operation of older stories, which disappear after 24 hours.
Users will have the capability to explore highlights from earlier posts, granted they have watched all stories from the accounts they are connected with. This new feature aims to keep users updated on the content shared by their social circles, especially considering the growing prevalence of sponsored content and digital media. Instagram users worldwide can anticipate the imminent introduction of the story highlights feature soon.
