The social networking service Instagram, a branch of Meta, is presently trialing a new feature referred to as the ‘Social Library.’ This upcoming enhancement is intended to compile all posts and Reels that a user has interacted with, encompassing reposts, likes, and saved items. The information regarding this feature surfaced from Alessandro Paluzzi, a prominent developer and informant.
Paluzzi shared a screenshot that implies the potential operation of this new feature, which seems to function as a dashboard, providing users with a clear approach to access diverse items. The “Social Library” would enable users to sift through media shared in conversations, their personal archives, and previously liked posts—all within a single consolidated space.
The screenshot features a magnifying glass symbol, suggesting that users might possess the capability to explore this integrated content library, making it easier to revisit Reels and other shared resources on Instagram.
What is the expected launch date for Instagram’s Social Library feature?
The anticipated schedule for the introduction of Instagram’s “Social Library,” which is reported to still be in the works, is not yet disclosed. Up to this point, neither Meta nor Instagram have released any formal statements regarding this prospective feature.
It’s essential to note that not all features observed during early testing stages will necessarily be included in the final version, so this information should be regarded with prudence.
Besides the “Social Library,” Paluzzi has also disclosed additional leaks suggesting that Instagram is developing a feature that would permit users to share comments separately on Threads, Meta’s text-centric social platform.
