ISLAMABAD: Kuwait has momentarily halted its e-Visa initiative for citizens from 53 nations. This action is associated with a continuous overhaul and improvement of the system. As a result, individuals who depended on the online service to arrange their entry into the nation will be affected.
The countries and regions impacted include:
Andorra, Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Georgia, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Laos, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and Vatican City.
According to an announcement on Kuwait’s official e-Visa website, the suspension is a part of a broader initiative to “modernize and upgrade” the current system. Nevertheless, the Ministry of Interior, which oversees the e-Visa service, has not yet supplied a specific schedule for these enhancements.
To alleviate any difficulties for travelers, the Kuwaiti government has assured that visitors from the affected 53 countries can still obtain a tourist visa upon their arrival in Kuwait.
How to Obtain a Visa on Arrival in Kuwait?
Qualified travelers can receive a three-month, single-entry visa at immigration checkpoints near Kuwait International Airport. Applicants must provide the following documentation:
- A passport that is valid for at least six months beyond entry.
- A return or onward travel plan.
- The visa fee is established at three Kuwaiti dinars (KWD).
At the visa counter in the airport, applicants must also supply a valid address for their accommodation and confirm that they are not included on Kuwait’s blacklist.
