ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new program named e-Sahulat, allowing citizens to make deposits at more than 50 financial institutions.
This program is the result of a collaboration between 1LINK and NADRA Technologies Limited. The event for the agreement was attended by the Chairman of NADRA and Deputy Governor Saleemullah from the State Bank of Pakistan.
Under this initiative, over 9,000 e-Sahulat centers will be established to facilitate deposits that necessitate biometric verification. NADRA highlighted that the primary goal of this program is to promote digital banking and enhance access to financial resources.
The endeavor seeks to guarantee that every citizen can access financial services and to broaden the scope of digital banking throughout the nation. Furthermore, NADRA clarified that any biometric problems are not associated with their system, as every bank can take advantage of the identification verification features provided by the “Verisys” system.
NADRA is also collaborating with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and the State Bank of Pakistan to implement a facial recognition verification system. Once initiated, this service will be available to all banking institutions and telecommunication companies.
