ISLAMABAD: The Secretary of Pakistan’s Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development has disclosed that the unemployment figure in the nation is at 6.3%. The demographic most impacted is the youth aged 15 to 34, who are encountering the highest unemployment levels, posing a significant challenge for the labor market.
This data was presented during a virtual session with the National Assembly Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, chaired by Junaid Akbar, on Thursday.
The secretary highlighted the essential role of remittances from expatriate Pakistanis as a crucial revenue stream for the country. Moreover, he suggested that the ministry is equipped to contribute greatly to the nation’s advancement.
