XD-AntiSpy, An Application To Protect Windows XP Privacy Makes a Resurgence

If you were a Windows XP user, you may be familiar with XP-AntiSpy, a tool that enabled control over Microsoft’s data access.

The most recent attention XP-AntiSpy received was back in 2015 when it was adapted for Windows 10. Presently, a software developer named Belim has breathed new life into XP-AntiSpy, now known as XD-AntiSpy, by launching its inaugural stable version.

The core objective of this utility remains consistent: to provide users with a simple means to regulate specific Windows configurations.

    Review of XD-AntiSpy

XD-AntiSpy is specifically designed for Windows 11 and can be found on GitHub. It is a compact tool, being less than 350 kilobytes in size, and can be executed without the need for installation.

Important: Executing XD-AntiSpy on Windows 11 might trigger a SmartScreen security alert due to the novelty of the application, rather than malicious intent.

The interface presents a categorized list of adjustments for Windows 11, encompassing features like Adblock, AI/Copilot settings, and Microsoft Edge personalizations.

XD-AntiSpy has been enhanced to cater to the requirements of Windows 11 users, providing fundamental adjustments to personalize their OS.

Active tweaks are clearly indicated with tick marks, making it easy to identify the enabled adjustments.

Most tweaks are uncomplicated, and a brief description of their functions is displayed when hovering over them.

To implement changes, users can effortlessly switch the tweaks on or off and then select the “apply settings” option. While modifications take effect immediately, a system reboot is necessary to finalize the process. Alternatively, users can achieve the same result via Tools > Restart Explorer.

The utility does not prompt users to establish a system restore point or back up. Although it supports importing and exporting settings, it is advisable to create a system restore point or a complete backup prior to making significant system alterations using any tool.

    Summary

XD-AntiSpy serves as a practical customization tool for Windows 11. While it may not encompass an exhaustive array of functionalities, it is a handy and promising utility. The future enhancements to XD-AntiSpy by Belim are eagerly awaited.
